Scanned documents are digital photos of the original paper documents. To search for text or index the scanned documents, they need to be OCR processed (text recognition).

With the PixEdit OCR Snap-in module, you can perform OCR manually on an already scanned document or automatically after scanning. By using the batch wizard you can very easily produce thousands or even millions of searchable PDF documents without user interaction. The recognized text may be pasted into any application.

Combined with the bookmark tool, the OCR module provides semi automatic bookmark functions so that your PDF documents are even easier to search and read.

PixEdit offers many different ways to perform OCR. You can OCR selected areas to clipboard, produce searchable PDF or even Microsoft Word or plain text files.
