Welcome! My name is Vidar and I live
in Norway. On this page you will find hints and tricks for making holograms.
I assume that you are familiar with the basic aspects of
holography - you will therefore not find any holography theory on this page.
In addition to making holograms I enjoy making stirling engines, kites (BIG kites) and recently - welding lamps.
Feel free to have a look around. If you have any questions, contact me at vhegdal@techsoft.no
WANTED: Spectra Physics 107 HeNe laser or similar ~ 40mw. E-mail me!

Left: The Bolt, 8x10 H2 reflection hologram. The image is about 15 cm deep and extends 7cm in front of the film. The bolt and nut model was made by my brother Arill. Right: My basement hobby holography room -it's not always as tidy as shown on this picture.
Some of the holograms made in my lab. From left to right: Pyrochrome reflection hologram, Image plane xmission hologram mounted on a mirror, reflection hologram. All images are 20x25cm film shots. The holograms are illuminated by three separate 25W halogen spotlights.
Single Beam animal scull recorded on BB640 - the best media I have ever used. The scull was rinsed and prepared by Bjørnar Olsen.

Flute (xmission) 20x25 cm on 8E75.

March 19 2003: A stable film holder
February 2003: Testing BB640 from Colourgraphics. Are they still as good as BB640 from HRT in Germany?
January 2003: The hologram making of the valuable Norwegian Chess King.
January 2001: Visit my lab and have a look at how easy it is to make your own equipment for making holograms.
December 2000 View the enhanced Saxby bypass configuration. Don't miss this one!
November 2000: Making the Gun master. Last year I made a new master for the Gun hologram. Images only - enjoy!
March 2000: Another report with BB640, this time in a split beam transfer setup in Ronny's lab.
October 1999: Careful with that safelight! A shocking discovery.
October 1999: A must see: Testing BB640 with a 658nm laser diode
August 1999: Home made liquid lenses Cheap and effective!
May 1999: Improved single beam setup: A must for advanced "single beamers"
